Lauretta comes to newsPRos from the National Safety Council, a non-profit advocacy organization that seeks to reduce injuries at work, home and on the road. As associate editor she focused on the home and community beat, writing news and feature stories on safety and health concerns predominantly affecting children and families.
Prior to that, Lauretta served as a government relations liaison at the Cook County Assessor’s Office, where she wrote and lobbied on property tax reform issues.
She started her journalism career as a freelance reporter for daily newspapers in the Chicago area.
Lauretta graduated from Lewis University in 2001, where she earned a B.A. in communications.
