Erika Freed

Erika Freed has more than 30 years of experience in public relations and communications for corporations, associations and professional services firms. She has been responsible for business-to-business and consumer public relations activities on behalf of clients, from Fortune 500 to start-up corporations, in a wide variety of fields, including legal, financial and investment services, real estate, healthcare, consumer products, technology, hospitality, employment services, aviation and many others.

Erika comes to newsPRos after managing her own public relations and editorial consultancy where she worked extensively with law firms. Prior to that, she was a senior vice president for more than two decades at one of the largest independent public relations agencies in the world, where she honed her skills in corporate communications, crisis communications, thought leadership programs, article writing and placement, speech writing, survey development and speaker and media training.

She is passionate about communications. Erika has utilized her journalism skills and experience to author numerous articles on behalf of her clients for business and trade publications such as The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, Directors and Boards, Leaders Magazine, Adweek, Boston Business Journal and Industry Week.   

Erika has also been a research and editorial assistant at a major economics research organization and a reporter for a daily newspaper in NJ where she was the first woman to report from the locker room of a professional baseball team. She has a BA in journalism and English from Rutgers University.  To support the town she loves, Erika has done pro bono work on behalf of Montauk, NY.
