For more than 25 years, Jamie has developed and managed media strategies for a variety of clients, including law firms, nonprofits, advocacy groups, trade associations, healthcare companies, small and mid-size businesses, universities, corporations, high-profile authors, and executives worldwide.
In addition to managing newsPRos, Jamie personally counsels and supports the firm’s clients. She routinely handles media challenges faced by large international law firms representing clients in high profile litigation, multimillion dollar transactions, and legislative and regulatory developments and changes. She also is the chief communications strategist for a leading national civil rights litigation firm handling discrimination, wage and hour, and qui tam matters.
Jamie works for both the plaintiff and defense sides of litigation. She handles crisis communications challenges for clients on issues ranging from FDA product recalls to a government housing agency’s response to the accidental death of a child resident to a community financial institution under Internet and legal attack from a disgruntled customer.
Jamie has crafted and implemented thought leadership campaigns for individuals at institutions of higher education, as well as at nonprofits advocating for a specific cause or issue.
Before founding newsPRos, Jamie was an on-air news reporter in local television news operations across the country, and she worked as a producer and assignment editor at NBC Network News in New York. Her experience on the front lines of network journalism equipped Jamie with an understanding of the news media and what reporters need and want.
Jamie earned a B.A. in political science from George Washington University, and a J.D. from the University of Baltimore School of Law, before starting her career in journalism. She earned several awards and honors for strategic media results including The Legal Marketing Association’s prestigious first place honor in Public Relations/Community Relations, and PR News’ “Legal PR Awards for Outstanding Media Exposure,” for her management of the media during a major law firm merger.
Jamie lives in Ridgewood, NJ. For fun, she works! And spends time with her two sons.
